Osaka Bootcamp (July 3-5)

It has been sometime since I did my BC, I should have written this weeks ago.

I am going to put as much detail as possible in to this field report.

 

7/3 First Day BC

Night Game:Pure, Onzieme

 

My first day of BC.

The day where the journey began.

I swore to myself not to be nervous, but things were overwhelming.

I was nervous right from the start when I met RedpoleQ, Kid44 and Pantera.

We met up in El Torito at Nanba Hips. Its a pretty cool Mexican restaurant with laid back atmosphere.

I was skeptical about PU and if it really works, because I have never seen one in action before.

However when I first met the instructors, I knew I am in something that's about to change my life.

The first thing I noticed, was that RedpoleQ and Kid44 takes a lot of space when they are sitting down.

RedpoleQ quickly noticed how nervous I was, and asked me some questions about my background.

This put myself into a more relaxed state and I began to open myself.

Kid44 mentioned to me that "Girls just wanna have fun" and "never be too serious".

Then it reminded me.

That was kind of my problem in the past. I took things too seriously.

Now I have to change.

RedpoleQ added also on how he started at PU and then we started to discuss Survival and Replication.

Not long after Kid44 and Pantera left the dinner table, Jumper and Angel arrived.

RedpoleQ quickly introduced me to everyone else and moments later we were back on the lesson.

Jumper spoke of how he improved his life trough PU and now busy taking care of other things.

The moment I heard that, I thought that Jumper is a great role-model.

And Angel seemed like the happiest guy. He has a wonderful relationship.

And everyone else seems to be doing great in their lifes.

I want to model myself after these great guys.

I want to take care of this "girl" problem that I am having and

I want to be able to focus on other aspects of life. I decided that this would be my goal.

During the lesson, RedpoleQ demonstrated several ways to BT spike a girl by BT spiking a waitress.

That night he told me that my goal was to open, BT Spike and Qualify.

However I was not allowed to eject until he says so.

 

After the dinner we moved to Ame-mura area to look for clubs with sets.

Jumper and and Angel left because they have work on the next day.

We got into Pure.

RedpoleQ quickly mentioned on the first thing to do when entering a club.

1. Walk around

2. Watch for places to lock in (Bar-counter, pillars, walls, etc)

 

He quickly made me approached some sets.

I used the "takoyaki-opener", and "what time does this place gets busy opener".

The first few sets did not hook up too well, RedpoleQ pointed out on how I leaned my body in towards the sets , too little kino and had small voice projection,

After the 4-5th sets, I began to get the hang of it, and the sets opened up better than before.

I managed to go until Qualification, and RedpoleQ would ask me "What did you like about this girl" from time to time to make sure I am not fluff talking too much.

He also reminded me not to forget to open all the ppl in the sets including the guys. If there are guys, he mentioned to open the guy first.

 

My favourite set in the club was HBhostess and her friend.

Her look is my type but her friend was not as cute as her(Thanks RedpoleQ for winging me up with this set)

After 10 mins, I learned that she works as a hostess, has a twin sister and lives with her family.

HBhostess was reluctant to converse at first. RedpoleQ told me to kino more by putting my hand on her waist.

Amazingly the girl gave more compliance than what I thought.

(This is the first moment I realized how important is Kino)

Sadly, RedpoleQ told me to eject after 15 mins into the set.

 

There were too little sets on scene so RedpoleQ changed the venue.

The next club we headed to was Onzieme.

There were much more sets here compared to Pure and the venue was bigger. We quickly walked around, and RedpoleQ introduced me to where the VIPs are, places to lock in, bar counters etc.

After that, we quickly ran the game and opened some sets.

The first thing I noticed is that the girls are more Japanized here.

 

Pure -> more foreigner friendly

Onzieme -> more Japanized girls (with more varieties and numbers than Pure)

 

I tried using english to approach in Onzieme, however RedpoleQ quickly mentioned not to do so.

And he is right.

I tried to show the sets that I am not Japanese by using English to open, however,

The points are here, if you look Japanese like me and opens with English there are 2 things that might happen.

1. The sets might think you are a Japanese who tries to act foreign, thus they will be harder to open.

2. They don't understand you (this happens most of the time) which will be pointless if you continue to BT spikes with English and they don't understand you.

 

To me Onzieme was a better club than Pure.

There were many places to lock-in and there were huge amount of sets.

In Pure we only could open 6-8 sets however in Onzieme we could open more than 10 sets. It was relentless, and it was fun.

I had lost my fear of approaching by that time.

 

My favorite set here was HBStripes.

I only remembered she gave compliance to my kino and we stayed pretty long with the set. That boosted my confidence a lot.

 

I have my experience of getting "Aimed on" on this day.

RedpoleQ made me approach 2 set near a cigarette vending machine.

They opened and I brought in RedpoleQ and started qualifying my target when a guy came in and grabbed RedpoleQ girl's hand.

We thought he was their friends for a moment and RedpoleQ opened the guy. However later we found out they do not know him.

RedpoleQ grabbed the girls and put his body in between the guy, at that moment I was just standing and watching. It was kind of funny because the girls was just giggling. In the end the girls just ejected themselves and we went on some other sets.

 

At the end of the day, we went to Dig Me Out (delicious Hot Banana Cakes!) for debriefs.

 

The things that I gained on 1st day of BC:

1. Importance of proper body language and voice projections

2. Confidence on approaching girls

3. Qualifications(How to qualify)

4. A compliment from a cute HB in the cafe, she said I dressed like a designer.

5. Overall confidence as a man (I was a total wreck months ago)

6. Knowing that I can do this if I keep practicing.

7. Ignore the guy/guys when getting aimed on.

7/4 2nd Day BC

Day game: Shinsaibashi. Night game: Azure

 

2nd Day started by having lunch in Third Planet Cafe in Shinsaibashi.

Very cool place with lots of sets.

RedpoleQ quickly opened a set while we were lining up for seats.

After we ordered our food, we quickly get into out theory lesson.

 

After lunch, we walked around for Day Game.

I want to be honest here. I dread the Day Game. Its socially awkward.

However I realized its importance.

1. Being able to do day game gives more choice in girls.

2. Some type of girls can't be found in night clubs.

3. Its free (No cover charge) therefore do-able anytime.

 

RedpoleQ made me approached a single goth-looking set.

I opened her with English (a mistake here).

She quickly say "You are Japanese aren't you"

I said no, but I was at a lost after that. I decided to eject.

RedpoleQ made me go back in again. I plowed and she left.

First experience for me to get blown out in Day Game.

 

After I was warmed out with that.

RedpoleQ made me approached more sets.

Some opened and I was able to go up to qualifications.

In some other sets, I was blown out.

I kept forgetting to talk to all the girls in the set.(A dire mistake here)

RedpoleQ reminded me not to forget to open everyone in the set.

 

At night we went to Azure for Night game. Jumper and Mr.Right joined us for the night. My goal this night was to seed Time Bridge and time bridge the girl. Azure was a very new place for me. The crowd here is very much different than before. The sets are more Japanized and it was a hip hop event.

 

Japanized -> a term that I would use to describe a less foreigner friendly place, or a group of Japanese that just mixes with ppl from their own country.

 

To me the crowd was more intimidating than the previous night.

RedpoleQ quickly made me approach some sets and I got blown out right away. The confidence that I had from last night was gone instantly.

Suddenly I felt that I was a small boy again.

Nonetheless, we went on sets after sets.

Most of the sets ejected themselves by saying going to the toilets.

It was a struggling night for me.

But I learned one important thing this night.

 

It is when RedpoleQ made me approach this intimidating 2 set.

Its a 2 set. HB Senpai and her friend.

They were hard to open, and there were very little compliance.

So I thought I would just plow and then I brought in Jumper.

Her friend was excited when Jumper came in and suddenly the set was warming up.

I went through my routines and RedpoleQ kept reminding me to kino more.

At one point the my target girl mentioned to me how she likes aggressive guys.

Which surprised me, because I thought the sarge was not going too well.

Suddenly a guy came in and RedpoleQ quickly swooped in to take care of the obstacle.

Later, we learned that the girl is actually the guy's senpai's girl.

So RedpoleQ made Jumper and me switch targets.

I ran my usual routine with the friend of HB Senpai but there was little compliance.

Not long after my target ejected with the toilet excuse and the sarge ended.

 

The last set I approached also made me learned one important thing.

It was a 2 sets and I thought they would not open.

So I just planted and keep plowing. To my amazement, they opened.

I managed to go until Time Bridge, however I found out later that my target was a gold digger.

So just for the sake of delivering practice I stayed in and practice with routines until they ejected themselves.

 

The things I have gained from 2nd day of BC

1. Day game is harder to do, however the rewards are greater.

2. Plowing actually works(I was skeptical at first)

3. Being aggressive with Kino is good.

(A girl complimented on how she likes aggressive guys when I was kinoing her)

4. Stacking through the sarge is important, keep moving forward,

and don't be distracted to what the girls are saying.

5. RedpoleQ told me on how timid I was behaving despite that I am a pretty big guy.

I have to be more dominant in moving through the club, and move people around.

All this is very true. I am a timid guy, RedpoleQ saw through it.

6. Never approach sets from the back.

7/5 Final Day BC

Day game: Umeda.

 

Final day of BC starts by heading out to Starbucks in Umeda.

RedpoleQ made me open a single set while we were lining up for coffee.

HBBankgirl opened well and I qualified her.

Then we sat down for theory lessons on hero story.

After we were done with the theory RedpoleQ made me go back to HBBankgirl who was sitting alone in the corner.I came back in and started gathering P.I.E.

I started to seed Time Bridge also. She was reluctant into agreeing the time-bridge.

So I ran some more attraction materials and number closed the girl(w/o proper time bridge, how stupid)

She left after that and RedpoleQ made me approach another single set.

 

I came in with bullshit mini cold read "you work at MacDonald" opener and sat down across right away.

She was shocked and I was startled by her reaction.(Which is expected but I am still startled).

It was the most socially awkward moment in the day.

I got very little compliance from this set and she was leaving so I ejected.

 

Later, Mr Right and Avvsome joined us in Starbucks.

Then a 2 set came in to sit beside us.

RedpoleQ made me approach these 2 set right away.

They opened really well, and I started to qualify, time bridge etc.

Then halfway through, we bounced them to Loft.

I was not handling my girl too well by not talking too much

and she finally gave that girl-to-girl look to her friend.

The set later said that they have to get home early.

Before they left, I delivered my hero story just for the sake of practice purpose. That was my first experience on Bouncing.

 

After that we head to Loft for more sets.

There were three hot HBs lining up for the cashier.

I told RedpoleQ that we had not tried opening sets with this kind of high caliber girls.

RedpoleQ said why not? and made me approached the sets.

I opened with a Takoyaki opener and I did not get off the opener, which was bad and the girls did not hook up. I ejected.

RedpoleQ was then pissed off because,

1. I did not progress through the model (fluff talking too much)

2. Stayed too long on opener

3. Paying too much attention on what the girls are saying.

After that we went on to open more sets. Some blew out, some opened for a minute or so.

Then we encountered this set, where RedpoleQ told me to open.

Mr Right helped me by winging on this one set that was opening quite well, when a Loft staff came in and told us to move away from the spot because we were blocking other customers.

We moved and my target girl ejected from us because I did not stay with her when we were moving away

from the spot. (Sorry Mr Right)

I kept blowing sets out that day.

 

The last set we opened that day was my favorite set.

They were the least cute and they gave very little compliance.

But I kept plowing and RedpoleQ brought Avvsome in to help me wing the other girl.

It was a very struggling moment, however I have learned the important thing that

no matter that the worst that could happen is the girls would just walk away.

Persistence is key.

I have learned a lot from the last set.

 

After that we went on to La Bohemia for dinner with Kid44, Pantera.

It was a very good dinner time because I got to the chance to know Kid44, Mr Right, Avvsome more in person.

It is amazing after hearing some of these guys stories, how they went through with their transformations, and be what they are today. These guys are my role-models and I will strive to be like these guys. We exchanged contacts after that. And that was the end of my BC.

 

Things I have gained on the last day of BC

1. Plowing and persistence is key

2. The worse that could happen is that they just walk away or maybe not

3. The importance of stacking through the models

After these three grueling days, my man confidence has definitely gotten a boost.

Before this, approaching a girl would be a fear-handling situation for me.

Now its more fun-handling, I am always thinking on how to make these girls have fun.

Sometimes I still have the fear but its so little now I don't care about it anymore.

The most important thing that I have learned is

how one could put an effort into one's life

and change it to the way he/she wants is to be if one would put his/her plan into motion.

I have seen a glimpse of hope that I could not see months ago, and now

for more than ever I want to change myself more and more to be my best self.
